FTP Tutorial
Updated: 17/01/08 For IE users Step 1 Download FTP (filezilla) here Step 2 Open up your FTP program. Step 3
Sign in. For my hostees, address is ftp.sixseven.org, user is subdomainname*@sixseven.org, password is yourpassword* and port is 21.
When you have filled in the 4 areas, hit enter. Step 4 Once you hit enter, you FTP should log you in and you should see some folders being displayed. The files and folders on your left are your documents in your hard drive, the files and folders on your right are the ones stored in your subdomain. Double-Click on public_html before uploading files Step 5 To upload your files, drag and drop the items from the left (your local site/hard drive files) to the right (your remote site/subdomain files) For Firefox users Since I have switched from IE to FF, I use FireFTP. It is an add-on installable by Firefox, and I think it's a lot more convenient because all you gotta do is click on Tools on your FF browser and you will see FireFTP! You can setup an account to your server, and FireFTP will remember it so all you need to do the next time is to click connect and you're there. You can download FireFTP here. |
